12 Strategies to survive lockdown - COVID-19

With Wednesday announcement of extended stay at home orders in Greater Sydney, I thought it would be fitting to remind us all of things we can be doing to support ourselves, our family and others in the community.

It’s times like this that we must reset and take a look at the bigger picture and ‘do the right thing’.

This is lockdown #2 on NSW Central Coast and it doesn’t get any easier the second time. However, there is a much bigger understanding of what the virus actually is and how it can be managed, should you unfortunately contract it. It comes as no shock that it is a killer and we need to fight against it.

I know a lot of my clients were in the process of treatment plans to help them on the road to a better quality of life. This is one of the reasons why it was so hard for me to close my doors at this time, on the advice of my association! Fingers crossed, stay at home orders will be lifted sooner rather than later so I can get to see all those smiling faces back in the studio. Think positive thoughts and positivity will come.

Such challenging times for everyone. Stay safe, social distance and check in too everywhere. Be sure to check in with your neighbours too - there may be someone out there that is suffering.

In the meantime, I will be hanging out with my 3 boys and hubby at home trying to do the juggle of parenting, running a home and running a business (or 2).

So, here’s what I’ve come across to remind us all how to survive LOCKDOWN. I know some of these are helping me get through each day. Even if you try and implement incremental changes to your movement behaviour, it will benefit you short and long term.

I have added this as a PDF if you need to download! 12 Practical Strategies to Surviving Lockdown

If you are concerned for your mental health during this challenging time, there is a Central Coast Mental Health Help Line. https://www.cclhd.health.nsw.gov.au/services/mental-health/

Stay Safe Everyone :)
